Urban Jungle Travel Insurance FAQs: Solo Traveling on a Shared Travel Insurance Policy & Picking Your Destination cover
This article only applies to our Travel Insurance policies. If you’re unsure about which policy you have, please refer to this article.
Below, we’ve broken down exactly how independent travel works when you share a travel insurance policy with other people, what to consider when choosing between Single and Annual Multi-Trip coverage, and how to spot which global destinations are fully covered.
Am I covered if I travel alone on a shared Travel policy?
Our Urban Jungle annual multi-trip Travel policies cover all the people named on the policy. All the named policyholders do not have to travel together to be covered by the policy. For example, if you travel somewhere independently, you are still covered if the other named policyholders are not with you.
If you already have a Travel policy with us, and want to check or amend the named policyholders, you can do so in the My Account section of our website
How do I know which Travel Insurance policy I need?
Making sure you choose the right travel policy for you is important. At Urban Jungle, we do not offer advice-based sales as we aren’t qualified financial advisors, so we can’t help you choose a policy that suits your needs. To help you decide, you can read about the cover we offer in both our Single Trip and Annual Multi Trip below.
If you have any queries and would like us to clarify policy wording, please get in touch. You can send us an email at support@myurbanjungle.zendesk.com. If you’re still unsure about the cover you need, you can speak to a qualified Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) to get more detailed advice. You can find them through vouchedfor.co.uk or unbiased.co.uk. You could also find an insurance broker on biba.org.uk.
Single Trip
Our Single Trip policies are designed to cover one trip, which involves an overnight stay and starts and ends at your home (or place of business). The cover lasts from when you buy the policy to the end of your trip. This trip can be up to 60 days (depending on the cover levels you choose and age at the time of the trip). You can read more about this in our Single Trip sample policy document.
Annual Multi Trip
Our Annual Multi Trip policies are designed to cover any number of trips within your policy period of cover year (shown in your policy schedule). Each trip can be up to 60 days long (depending on the cover levels you choose and age at the time of the trip) - but they must all start and end at your home (or place of business) and involve an overnight stay. You can read more about this in our Annual Multi Trip sample policy document.

We can’t offer quotes over the phone or by email, and we can’t advise on your personal circumstances (we're not regulated to offer financial advice).
How do I know which countries you cover on your Travel Insurance policies?
Before you travel, it is important that you ensure the country or countries you are visiting are safe and that you have the right insurance coverage for your needs.
Once you start our quote process, you should be able to see what countries we cover.
Our insurance policies can cover most countries, but they do not extend to those on the Hazardous Territories list. This includes any country or region where the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) has advised against "all" or "all but essential" travel. If you’re unsure, check the Foreign Travel Advice on the government website for more information.
If you opt for an Annual Multi-Trip policy, check the fields below for what countries our packages cover. If you opt for a Single Trip policy, you will have to declare the country or countries you intend to visit in your quote.
To make any changes to your cover package or the destination you are planning to visit, head to the “Manage policy” section on the My account page.

Covered Countries Worldwide
If your destination does not fall within our European countries, Worldwide cover must be selected.
If you select Worldwide cover, you will also have to specify if you are visiting the USA, Canada, the Caribbean, China, or Hong Kong.
Please note that if you are just transiting through these countries, they do not need to be added to your policy.
We can't cover any trip to a hazardous territory advised against “all” or “all but essential” travel by the FCDO. This does not apply if you’re only transiting through and not leaving the airport or passing through immigration.
You can check the FCDO list on their website.
